This is a local woman from the red karen tribe. We visited an eco village set up by the government to help tribes people to learn new skills and some education for the younger generation. But, it is also a big tourist attraction as they have a few different tribes all living in the same village which wouldn't really happen in the real hill tribes.

This young girl is from the long neck karen hill tribe.

She is working with a hand loom to make material for graments or hand bags which they sell mainly to tourists for a very low wage.

This is a young girl from the same tribe she is only 15 and is married with a child (the little boy in the middle),
and the other girl is her sister she has been taught a little Thai and english so we could communicate with her. The tribes all have a language of there own even the different karen tribes have there own dialect.
In this tribe the women where iron coils around there neck as it is seen to be beautiful and even though the avrage wait is about 5kilo's and look very painful they have expressed that they don't want sympthy from the tourist as they choose as individuals to where these coils and when ever they want, they can take them off.

LET THE TREKKING BEGIN!
This was the beging of our three day trek in the jungle!

LET THE TREKKING END!
About 40mins into the trek we're all dying wishing that we were at the top of the hill!!

"What do you mean another 2 hours i've no water left"
Steven.
"HA ha HA HA HA WE DOOOO!!"
Donna and Alan.

YEAH I SURVIVED DAY 1
